Tony Brooks is a painter living in New Plymouth New Zealand. Largely self taught and painting in oils and acrylics he endeavours to capture the effects of light and texture. As a school pupil his art has been featured in national school exhibitions but Tony only returned to art again in his early sixties. Living on the coast many of his painting feature water but he's constantly amazed a the beauty that mother nature provides in all her environments even in the most mundane of subjects and he seeks out the essence of that beauty.
