TLC scholarship opportunity for asaa artists

For the ASAA 2024 art show season The Learning Connexion have created four scholarship opportunities specifically for artists who are exhibiting with Art Shows Across Aotearoa.

These scholarships are designed for artists who wish to enhance their lives through creativity but are struggling to do so due to financial hardship or the cost of living. This is an opportunity unique to Art Shows Across Aotearoa and The Learning Connexion. The aim is to enhance artist’s futures with creativity, to develop practical skills and to learn from the incredible, supportive tutors through the TLC NZQA programmes. The Learning Connection is renowned for teaching sustainable creativity to artists in the Wellington Region for 35 years and is New Zealand’s only education provider fully dedicated to teaching creativity processes.

There are three levels of study that you can apply for:

  1. New Zealand Certificate in Creativity (Level 4).  First step in your creative journey.

  2. New Zealand Diploma in Creativity (Levels 5 & 6). Next step in your creative journey.

  • Four scholarships are available in total, there being one scholarship available at each of Art Shows Across Aotearoa’s 2024 art shows.  Wellington’s Scholarship is for on-site only and Queenstown, Auckland and Christchurch scholarships are for distance or on-site study.

  • The Scholarship requires to be utilised within 6 months of it being awarded to the recipient.

  • Each scholarship is awarded to cover the full course fee depending on the level entered.

  • There are rolling start dates for distance learning throughout 2024 and three term time start dates onsite at the Taita campus during 2024. Scholarship applications made via the Queenstown Art Show commence in term 1, 2025.

  • There is a 2 week (working day during term time) period for review after applications are received and TLC will independently contact the successful applicant.

  • Art Shows Across Aotearoa will announce the scholarship recipients on their media platforms.

  • All submissions to scholarships will be reviewed by The Learning Connexion Educational Trust and funding is awarded at the said trust’s discretion.
