Popular host of the Grand Designs New Zealand TV Show, Tom Webster is the Queenstown Celebrity Choice Award Judge!

Tom has spent a lot of time digging deep into some of New Zealand’s most amazing building projects – many of which feature spectacular art as the finishing touch on their celebrated architecturally-designed walls. With a huge enthusiasm for creative activities of all kinds, Tom, a UK-born and trained architect practising out of Auckland with his architect wife Anna, has interests in art and design that range far and wide.

Tom selected talented Christchurch artist Robyn Smith as the winner of The Queenstown Celebrity Choice Award 2024. Robyn's abstracted landscapes won Tom's heart and ours! Congratulations Robyn!

Paul Izzard Celebrity Choice AWARd 2024

Paul Izzard - renowned designer and founder of Izzard Design Studio – brought his enthusiasm and expertise to the role of Celebrity Choice Judge for the Auckland Art Show during the VIP Preview at the Viaduct Event Centre.

During the VIP Preview Paul had free range to choose one body of work from one artist amongst the many artists exhibiting at Auckland's largest art show.

Paul made a superb choice for the winner of the celebrity choice award!

Watercolourist Bernadette Parsons is one of Aotearoa's foremost watercolour artists, having won many awards over her twenty-year career, Bernadette has now received the Celebrity Choice Award - Auckland Art Show 2024. Bernadette has a passion for watercolour and the freedom that the medium gives her to express herself creatively.

Congratulations Bernadette Parsons and thanks Paul for your input into this award!

tanea heke Celebrity Choice AWARd 2024

Tanea Heke - charismatic luminary of the New Zealand arts sector and well-known Wellington star of stage and screen – brought her Celebrity sparkle to the Wellington Art Show VIP Preview on Friday 19 April at the amazing Takina Events Centre.

Tasked with choosing one artist’s body of work from the mass display on exhibition - to receive the Tanea Heke Celebrity Choice Award 2024 for Wellington – Tanea rose to the occasion – her eye caught initially by an impressively large and powerful semi-abstract landscape! Her choice of talented Sean Beldon as the 2024 winner was a popular one.

Later in the evening one of Sean’s smaller works went on to be selected as Regional Finalist of the Stuff Art Aotearoa Gold Award by a national judging panel. From very large to very small Sean’s talented works epitomise Art Shows Across Aotearoa ART FOR EVERYONE philosophy. Congratulations to Sean and a huge thankyou to our talented Celebrity Tanea Heke starring creatively once again in the arts sector. More about Tanea here...

Canterbury based company Hann Construction have been the champions behind our Christchurch Celebrity Choice Award since 2019!

Hann Construction sponsors the Celebrity Choice winner, who receives a 5-panel exhibition pack for the following year's art show.

Christchurch Media celebrity Chris Lynch selects the artist who wins this amazing award! This year pastel artist Nicola Reif impressed Chris with her skill base and beautifully rendered works. Chris is an extremely popular celebrity judge with The Christchurch Art Show and you can view his 2024 choice video online to the right.
