Paul X Walsh
Paul X Walsh is one of New Zealand’s most prolific public artists, having painted dozens of murals and over a hundred utility box artworks around the country. Born and raised in Rotorua, he spent his formative years living in Wellington and London, and has been based in Auckland since 2008.
His art has been featured on multiple news websites and TV shows, including Newshub, Radio NZ, Seven Sharp, BBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Company and CNN’s Headline News. He has also created murals for a diverse range of clients, including ESPN, L'Oreal and the Rugby World Cup. His primary medium is spraypaint and acrylic, which he uses on both wall and canvas.
His favourite art movements are Art Nouveau, Lowbrow and Surrealism, and his favourite artists are Jean 'Moebius' Giraud, René Magritte, Greg 'Craola' Simkins and Elliot Francis Stewart.
