Queenstown Judges

Norma Dutton & Peter Gregg

Art Shows Across Aotearoa is delighted to announce Norma Dutton & Peter Gregg until very recently the owners and directors of Gallery Thirty Three in Wanaka - as the Queenstown Regional Judges for the 2024 ASAA Gold Award for Art Excellence.

This national Award generously sponsored by Stuff Media has an overall value of $35,000+ and is being progressively adjudicated across ASAA’s four major Art Shows in four different New Zealand cities throughout 2024. This will culminate with the Gold Award presentation to a single winner in November 2024.

For this fourth and final selection leg, both Norma and Peter will be working with Lead Judge Karl Chitham Director of The Dowse - one of New Zealand’s leading contemporary public galleries - and Frances Morton the national Judge from Stuff Media, at the Queenstown Art Show in October, at the Te Purahuru Event Centre.

During their 26+ years of experience, the Greggs have successfully owned and operated two well-regarded commercial art galleries. The Arthouse, founded in Christchurch in 1998, and for the past 19 years, Gallery Thirty Three in Wanaka – both recognised for their regular programme of exhibitions featuring works by well-known, mid-career and emerging New Zealand artists.

Between 2004 and 2011 this couple also successfully organised and presented seven major outdoor sculpture events in the Central Otago area.

A passion for art is what attracted Norma Dutton & Peter to work with many of New Zealand’s top artists - purchasing art for their personal collection, providing art consultancy services and liaising with other discerning collectors, they have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience across the expansive field of contemporary New Zealand art.

As directors of thriving Gallery Thirty Three until very recently the positive art outcomes produced by Peter & Norma are now being very much appreciated by the Gallery’s new owner Vanessa George.
