Jamie Newman is a painter and multi-hyphenate creative based in Aotearoa New Zealand. His early works were sold locally and internationally through Parnell Gallery, and he showed pieces in both the UK and Berlin.

After a decade-long hiatus to focus on music production, and founding placemaking and events businesses Interesting Things and renowned morning rave series Morning People — Jamie returned to painting in 2021. 

His recent works revisit the abstraction of his early practice while evolving through new techniques and processes.

In 2024, he established Second Child Studios, a shared artist space behind Karangahape Road, where he works alongside three other artists. Drawing on two decades of experience, he continues to push his practice forward, while developing an exciting new body of work.
