Monique Jackett is a Wairarapa based mixed media artist. She lives on a lifestyle block with her husband, two children and a menagerie of rescue animals. She is also a part time primary teacher and flutist. Her passion for New Zealand’s incredible outdoors is an integral inspiration for her paintings. Her land, sky and water scapes are created with a variety of acrylic, texture, gold leaf, and resin.
Accents of pearl paint, illuminates her work in changing light. Monique is inspired to create artwork representing places that show the beauty of nature with an abstract influence. “I am in awe of all the captivating spots around New Zealand. Every corner you turn you can find a new favourite place. I want to capture the essence of these mystical, magical places in my work.”
