GENERAL INFORMATION
-
Pricing: We advise artists to keep within their usual pricing and to cover a range of high, med to low price brackets.
-
A.I: No AI generated artwork or work that has an AI component is acceptable.
-
Artists are Required to be Present: during the art show to promote their own work and curate their own work. Please display your own catalogue, business cards and promotional materials.
-
Ownership: all artwork remains the artists until sold.
-
Agreement to Image Use: all images provided by artists to ASAA may be reproduced by Art Shows Across Aotearoa for marketing purposes. Artwork and artists may be filmed/photographed for advertising purposes for all our art shows while they are present at the art show.
-
Security Camera Use Policy: Security cameras may operate during our events to protect attendees, staff, and artworks. Cameras are placed only in public areas, and footage is used strictly for safety and incident management. Access is limited to authorised personnel, and recordings are stored securely for a short period and then deleted. Clear signage will notify visitors of camera use.
-
All Artwork for Sale: all work in the art show is for sale.
-
Artwork Must Be Recent: Excluding giclee and reproductions of originals. All work must be the artist’s own work/inspiration/intellectual property. It must be the work of a living artist and must be entered by the artist/creator of the work. The exception being if the entity entering is an arts body. The arts body must have written agreement from their exhibiting artists that they have read and will comply with ASAA terms and conditions. All works are to be signed by the artist where possible.
-
Weight and Dimensions: A single piece of wall hung work must be no heavier than 8kgs. Artworks must fit the dimensions of your Artist Pack – a single panel is 1.2w x 2.3 h
-
All 2D Wall Hung Work: must be framed in a professional manner and be ready to hang. The exception being object art, canvas art and aluminium prints and paper work in print racks.
-
Health & Safety: Any items set up in front of panels on the floor space need to be approved by Art Shows Across Aotearoa. This is to ensure that items are not blocking your neighbouring artists panels – and that are not crowd obstructions. All electrical appliances used at the show and/or for sale must have an up-to-date test and tag.
-
Original and Open Edition Prints: only one copy of an original edition on display at any time. The edition number must be visible with no adjustments - or the information must be an attached certificate of authenticity. Only one work of an open edition on exhibition on a panel at any one time. Artists must take care to have the correct information about a print recorded on the sales tag/back of work – if the work is an original print, etching, giclee, limited edition, open edition, reproduction or other. A certificate of authenticity is advised for original and limited edition works. We want the customer to have the correct information about what type of print they are purchasing.
-
Food and Drink: Artists are welcome to partake of catering and a sponsored drink on entry and at our Opening Nights. Artists that do not want this can receive a renumeration for this cost on their application. VIP Preview food and catering is not available for artists.
-
ASAA art shows are “cash and carry”: Sold artwork (except for heavy sculpture and award works) leave the building with the purchaser. Work is hung and displayed on your artist pack panels. Your excess work can be stored onsite and as artwork is sold and moves on with the purchaser your stored work replaces the sold work in your exhibition. This means that the show is constantly rotating. The movement of artwork is dictated by the movement of sales. We advise artists to make sure that they provide enough extra work to replace their sold work.
-
If An Artist Sells Out: then that space/panels become the property of Art Shows Across Aotearoa to use. An artist may not pass their artist pack onto another artist without authority from ASAA.
-
Art Shows Across Aotearoa Reserve the Right to Remove Any Artwork From the Show: Art Shows Across Aotearoa has full control and the final say in the hanging and exhibition of all works and promotional materials in the show. Art Shows Across Aotearoa retains the right to remove any unwanted material.
-
Application Process Decisions are Final: our policy is not to comment on rejections.
-
Artists Must Follow: all ASAA policies.
-
Regulations: Art Shows Across Aotearoa is subject to all government, council and venue regulations.
-
Terms and Conditions: can be subject to change.
